Russian missile and drone attacks across Ukraine killed nine civilians and injured dozens on Saturday, according to Ukrainian regional authorities, as both sides reported new strikes on industrial and logistical targets.
Three people were killed near Kramatorsk when vehicles were hit, while two died in an attack on a grocery store in Zvyahel. Additional deaths were reported in Zaporizhzhia and Kryvyi Rih.
In the southern port region of Odesa, overnight attacks wounded 37 people and left two others missing. Residential buildings, petrol stations and commercial facilities were among the sites reported damaged.
Moscow said its forces struck Ukrainian industrial plants and cargo ships that it alleged were carrying military goods. Reuters could not independently verify all battlefield claims made by either side.
Ukraine also launched drones toward Russian territory, with fires and damage reported at industrial facilities in Samara and Rostov regions. Russian officials said residential buildings were affected and several people were injured.
The widening pattern of reciprocal attacks is increasing danger for civilians far from the front line. Energy, transport and manufacturing sites have become frequent targets because of their importance to military logistics and the wider economy.
Emergency crews continued search, firefighting and repair operations as officials assessed the full scale of damage. The attacks came amid continued diplomatic uncertainty and no immediate sign of a sustained ceasefire.
