Russian drone strikes hit two petrol stations in Kyiv on Friday, killing two people and injuring twelve others, according to Ukrainian authorities.

One of the targeted sites was reportedly struck twice, raising concern for emergency workers and civilians who may approach an area after an initial explosion.

Officials said the wounded included a child, while additional damage was reported at a residential building and facilities connected to Ukraine’s telecommunications network.

Ukraine said Russia has expanded its use of faster jet-powered drones against urban and economic infrastructure, including fuel-distribution sites.

Ukrainian drones simultaneously attacked locations inside Russia, where regional authorities reported deaths in the Tula and Kursk regions and fires at industrial facilities.

Both governments deny deliberately targeting civilians, but the widening campaign against fuel, transport and commercial infrastructure is increasing risks to populated areas on both sides.
