Turkey will hold an acceptance ceremony on 28 September for the first HÜRKUŞ-II next-generation basic training aircraft, marking a new stage in its domestic aviation programme.
The event will take place at Turkish Aerospace Industries’ Kahramankazan facilities, with additional aircraft deliveries expected to continue through the remainder of the year.
HÜRKUŞ-II is designed to provide pilot candidates with basic flying skills before they advance to jet training and frontline combat-aircraft programmes.
The aircraft completed roughly 300 development, certification and qualification sorties covering 2,256 test points before receiving its type certificate on 9 September 2026.
Turkish officials describe the platform as the opening stage of a national manned-aircraft chain that also includes the HÜRJET advanced trainer and the KAAN multirole fighter.
The programme has expanded domestic expertise in aircraft design, manufacturing, testing and certification while incorporating feedback from pilots and maintenance teams.
Turkey also sees export potential, estimating that international markets require more than 250 modern basic trainers and hoping to secure agreements with several countries.
