Türkiye is reviewing the United States Treasury’s latest sanctions announcements concerning commercial activity with Iran, Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek has said.
Şimşek’s statement indicates that Ankara is assessing the implications for Turkish banks, exporters, transport companies and other businesses with regional exposure.
Washington recently expanded restrictions involving Iranian aviation and related procurement networks, including entities it says operated through several countries.
The Turkish government has not announced a new enforcement measure or policy change, and the minister did not provide details about possible domestic action.
Türkiye maintains important trade and energy connections with Iran while also depending on access to Western financial markets, making sanctions compliance a sensitive economic issue.
Companies are likely to examine ownership structures, customers and payment channels more carefully while awaiting additional guidance from Turkish authorities.
